3 flavourful colour trends for spring, 2019
WARM AND SPICY SUMMER COLOURS ARE STANDING OUT FROM ALL THE REST.
In our Stratford, Ont., bricks and mortar store, we’re packed full of summer stock. And the colour stories for spring 2019 are on full display in all corners.
There’s so much variety this season, but a collection of bold and spicy items from the Danish brand Ichi is creating buzz. Combining fall-like colours with light fabrics and summer shapes, the items in these new collections are oddly compelling. And the colours are making our mouths water. Mango, persimmon, chili, curry, paprika, turmeric and vanilla all come to mind.
Paired with a neutral or cognac shoe, these pieces stand out against the crowd of lights and brights, making them seem just right for the season’s celebratory outdoor events. We can imagine them at weddings, reunions and family picnics, for example.
As well, they’re smart buys because they’ll transition well into fall. Combined with warm socks and a chunky sweater, these beauties carry us, fashion-wise, right through to Thanksgiving.
What would one wear when sipping on a mango mojito? This dress of course. At least, that’s the official colour name for this collection of golden yellow Ichi items, so it’s got us planning for patio nights.
The burnt oranges and red colours from this collection by Ichi are straight out of a spice market. The warm colours make a unique combo with light blue.
This unique stripe colour combo from Ichi is available as a sleeveless dress, $96.
Creamy whites provide a sweet counterpoint to the spicy tones of this collection.
Worn together, this frill top, $65, and button skirt, $69, look sweet and comforting. The separates also pair well with the spicy colours in the collection.
